Screen printing is the original shirt decoration and still the one to beat past 50 pieces: ink pushed through a mesh screen, laid thick, cured hot. The print outlasts the shirt, the colors stay dense on dark fabric, and the per-shirt price falls hard as quantity climbs.
Each color in your design gets its own screen, which is the whole cost structure: a one-color logo on 100 shirts is cheap; a six-color mural on 20 shirts is not. We price both honestly on the proof.
Plastisol or water-based ink
Plastisol sits on top of the fabric: maximum opacity, the classic slightly-raised feel, the default for logos on dark shirts. Water-based soaks into the fiber for a soft, vintage hand that gets softer with washing. Same price; the proof notes which we recommend for your art and shirt color.
Where screen printing wins
Events, bands, crews, fundraisers: anywhere one design goes on many shirts. At 100 shirts a one-color print lands near $8 a shirt on quality ring-spun blanks. If your design is a photo or has more than 4 colors, DTG on the main t-shirt page is the better tool and we will say so.

Common questions
Cured plastisol regularly outlives the garment: 100+ washes without cracking when washed inside out. Water-based prints fade gently by design, which is the look people pick them for.
Each color needs a screen at $18, a one-time cost per design that we keep on file. Reorders skip it entirely, which is why the second run of 100 costs about $70 less than the first.
Yes, on customer-supplied garments we quote print-only pricing. We flag the risk plainly: misprints on supplied goods cannot be replaced free, which is why most orders use our blanks.
